Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is Hiring a Production Technician Near Orleans, LA
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Update, maintain, and complete all required orders, records and forms in a timely manner.
- Deliver, install, operate, and retrieve all audio, video, lighting, rigging and other production equipment.
- Assist in the coordination and interfacing of outside vendor equipment.
- Assist clients and in-house personnel in the operation of equipment.
- Assist clients and in-house personnel in conducting virtual or hybrid meetings.
- Act as a supportive liaison to other departments, vendors and clients.
Troubleshoot, analyze, diagnose and repair complex audio, A/V and lighting systems in order to minimize down time and improve responsiveness.
- Account for and ensure that equipment is returned undamaged to help maintain costs and aid in the comprehensive equipment management of the department.
- Perform routine walk- throughs of meeting rooms and conference areas to ensure the proper security of equipment.
Assist in the training and development of part-time personnel to accurately and efficiently perform departmental job duties building a share knowledge base.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a basic working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
Other Skills and Abilities
Individual must be willing to work at heights and use lifts.
Ability to complete job duties with minimal supervision.
Experience
Preferred- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Rigging certification preferred.
